The trade electrician, introduced by the National Council for Vocational training (N.C.V.T.), Government of India is meant to produce highly skilled and efficient tradesmen, fit for quick employment in the fast expanding field of electrical industry, at home and aboard. Intensive practical and theoretical training is imparted to trainers in the installation, maintenances and repair of various electrical systems, machineries and appliances. This course enables a trainee to estimate and carry out domestic and industrial wiring, install different types of low and medium voltage machines and their control panels, test wiring installation, locate and rectify faults and to connect different types of light fittings. The National Trade Certificate holders in this trade are fit to get placement in the government, Quasi- Government and Private industrial concerns as supervisors, chargemen, foremen, electrician, wiremen etc.

Minimum Qualification : A pass in S.S.L.C. or equivalent or above .
